UNO RETREAT Kyoto has obtained the Gluten-Free Destinations certification from the Gluten-Free Food Program in 2026. This certification, endorsed by the National Celiac Association, reflects the property’s commitment to structured gluten-free procedures and to supporting guests who want greater confidence when dining and staying away from home.
Set in a four-room machiya townhouse, UNO RETREAT Kyoto prepares all meals — including breakfast dishes such as hagama-cooked rice, Kyoto yuba, and seasonal vegetables — in a dedicated gluten-free and vegan kitchen. In-room amenities and refrigerator provisions follow the same gluten-free and vegan standard, giving guests added confidence throughout their stay rather than only at mealtimes. As the first GFFP-certified hotel in Asia, UNO RETREAT Kyoto extends that same standard of oversight to a market where certified gluten-free stays have been harder to find.
