York University is Certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten-Free Food Program (GFFP) since 2019. The program is also endorsed by the Coeliaque Québec and the National Celiac Association.
At York University, we are committed to providing top quality dining offerings and accommodating a variety of dietary needs. Our food services team includes an experienced culinary team and Registered Dietitian, who work together to build menus and concepts that will be desirable to our York Community, including those who follow a gluten-free diet. Although each of our locations on campus offers gluten-free options, we felt that it was important to create a dedicated location where guests who follow a gluten-free diet can feel safe – so we created The Market at Bergeron. All items prepared in-house at The Market are certified gluten-free. This facility features a rotating menu, which will change each semester, and offerings include delicious breakfast and lunch entrees, sandwiches, salads, soups, grill items and desserts, all prepared fresh every day! Whether following a gluten-free diet is a requirement or a preference, guests will enjoy menu items that are gluten-free but never sacrifice on taste. The Market at Bergeron is located in the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence.
